Into the Wild

i just finished reading another book.
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer.

what a beautiful book.
nothing near what i was expecting to read.
what a wonderful thing when that happens.

the movie Into the Wild has been in theaters for awhile now, and my friend katie saw it and said it was really good.
i thought about going to see it for awhile, but then decided that i would get more out of it if i read the book instead.

i expected it to document the journey of Chris (Alex) McCandless to Alaska in chronological order. i expected Krakauer to break the news to me of Chris' death at the very end of the book. but he totally blew away my expectations. the story was written in a very unexpected way and brought in much more information about different aspects of Chris' life, thoughts, patterns, relationships, than i expected.

it was just really wonderful.

and now its time start my next book:

a heartbreaking work of staggering genius by dave eggers.
