Away We Go - Film

Away We Go

How excited am i to see this new film? Very excited.
My lovely friend Devyn, and also my roommate when I lived in Ballard, works for 826 Seattle. She just sent me an invite to this screening of this film in Seattle. 826 is a nonprofit writing center that helps kids ages 6 to 18 develop their writing skills. They put on fun events and produce incredible books that include the kids' writings. The nonprofit was started by none other than the writer Dave Eggers. And this screenplay was written by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida. Neato.
a few actors on the cast: John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jeff Daniels, Catherine O'Hara. ( I love Catherine O'Hara, and Maggie, and Maya.)

I plan on going to the screening of Away We Go in Seattle on May 9th. If you are in this neck of the woods on May 9th, you should come too! Buy your tickets here.
(also, it's pretty cool that they use Brown Paper Bag Tickets Company instead of dumb Ticketmasters. BPB Tickets is the first and only fair trade ticket company!)

ps. if you didn't know already, Dave Eggers is also one of the screenwriters for the Where the Wild Things Are film. awesoooooome. I have read half of 2 of Dave Eggers books... and for some reason had a hard time trying to finish them. But i have an inkling that his writing style will be perfect for the big (or small) screen.

I was considering going to the 826 event, and now that I know you're going, I will ATTEND! I'll get a zip car so we can arrive in style!
