Music Mondays: Laura Veirs

Laura Veirs is the best. I first heard her when I was on my first flight back home from Seattle to Northern California when I was a sophomore. 4 years later, I am still obsessed with her music. Her lyrics are so beautiful, flitting and floating around with metaphor and incredible imagery. Her compositions are so freaking good, so unique to her own particular style. Her voice is so honest and pretty. She's really good guys, seriously. You need to listen to her. I would say that with my own song writing, she is probably one of the most influential musicians for me. She is up there with Joni Mitchell. Yes, that good.

These are two of her most mellow songs, I think they are mesmerizing.

Laura, you are the best.

I love Laura Veirs too. The first song of hers I ever heard was 'Through December' and it still makes me feel a bit tingly when I hear it. It got me through some very sad, mourning times too.

I've been discovering your songs too - lovely!
