It's All Comin' Back to Me Now

Today we recorded some of the vocals on a few of our songs. Yay, finally I get to add something! The songs are filling out sooooo well I am so thrilled.
Speaking of Thrills, after we recorded a few songs, Phil Peterson, our producer, said we reminded him of this band: The Thrills. Funny, because I used to LOVE them when I was a senior in high school.

Upon arriving home this evening, i ventured on a quest to look up some of my favorite songs from around the time that I loved The Thrills. I went through a heavy phase of really digging bands that had "The" names. For example: The Thrills, The Stills, The White Stripes, The Beatles, and so on and so forth. There is just something about bands that begin with The that is unlike anything without the "The." A certain aesthetic. I don't know particularly what it is but, to this day, I still have a special spot in my heart for "The" Bands. And an especially big spot in my heart for my own "The" band, The Mopes!

Here are some of my favorite favorite songs from the middle/end of high school.../I still and will forever love them.

This is my most favorite song of ALL TIME. The Stranglers "Golden Brown"
(though I don't particularly like the rest of their music.)

The Stills "Lola Stars and Stripes"

The Vines "Autumn Shade"

...had a crush on the lead singer. flithy.

The Hives "Hate to Say I Told You So"

...had a crush on the lead singer of this band too. oh high school hormones.

The White Stripes "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground"

I loved this video so much. And I will eternally have a crush on Jack White. He is a genius. Fact of they day.

The International Noise Conspiracy "Capitalism Stole My Virginity"

The Thrills "Big Sur"
