I really love each of these quotes about art, even if some seem to contradict the one previous. I think that's the weirdest thing about creating, about emotions, about humans. So many contradictions, yet each statement can be validated.
Pablo Picasso: "All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
Carl Jung: "Art is a kind of innate drive that seizes a human being and makes him its instrument. To perform this difficult office it is sometimes necessary for him to sacrifice happiness and everything that makes life worth living for the ordinary human being." Goethe:
"Science and art belong to the whole world, and before them vanish the barriers of nationality."
Magdalena Abakanowicz: "Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind."
Oscar Levant: "There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line."
also can I say that when you type in "art" in google image search, a bunch of really random shitty art and not art shows up? try it yourself. yikes.
