Staying Warm

Winter is a weird season. I love getting bundled up, I love that it is such a snuggly cozy season. But it is also a dangerously lonely season. This winter, I want to try with all my heart to seek out ways to counter that seasonal loneliness. Turn the melancholy into something beautiful and poetic rather than letting it morph into selfish and reclusive depression.

The warmest and most comforting musicians I can think of are Wilco and Joanna Newsom. Something about both of their music just fills me up and brings me so much comfort and joy.

Even if I am alone in a cold house, the air feels softer and more inviting when it is swirling with their sounds.

so incredibly warm.

Joanna Newsom's "Book of Right On" (video by my favorite videographer Stefan Ramirez Perez.)

Joanna Newsom is lovely
I feel that way about
The Boy Least Likely To, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, The Beach Boys, The Velvet Underground and Stockholm Monsters. I love winter but I agree it feels lonely. Wish you a lovely rest of the winter season and lots of inspiration. <3
