Repeal

Photobucket

Before I say goodbye for the week, I just needed to post about this.   I know that some of you may not feel the same way I do about "Dont Ask, Don't Tell" and LGBT Rights, but this is really important to me.  I am not gay/bi/transgender, but I do deeply love my LGBT family members and friends.  And it is incredibly important for me to support their rights and fight for their justice.  I love this video that Lady Gaga just posted.  And I encourage you to watch it.

If you would like to support the rights of your friends and neighbors by posting this widget on your page, or by using this image, please go ahead :)  What's mine is yours, my loves.

If the President wanted to he could AT ANY TIME simply issue an order as Commander In Chief for all officers and justice officials to not enforce Don't Ask Don't Tell pending a legislative resolution, just like he has already issued an Executive Order for the Feds to not enforce existing marijuana laws apart from major traffickers (leaving enforcement to the states). That's why the federal govt doesn't bust medical marijuana dispensaries in California any more.

Even more than posting a widget, I wish people would contact their members of Congress. It's SO EASY to do, yet the majority of Americans never give it a shot, never make their voices hear. Action alerts from nonprofits across the country make it simple to write to Congress, and even give you outlines of what to say if you call your Members of Congress's offices. This one from the Human Rights Campaign is pre-written & super easy. All you have to do is add your own information & click send, & it goes right to your Senators: https://secure3.convio.net/hrc/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=936

Amen! I've contacted my congress people and I'm really crossing my fingers. As a military wife, I'd love to see LBGT be able to be open and to see their spouses get the benefits they deserve.

Oh my GOSH. So this isn't very related to this post, I think your blog is incredible. I read a lot of blogs and have, in all honesty, grown a little weary to the "same old" look. But your blog is AWESOME. I'm not going to lie, I screamed when it loaded. hahha, I can't believe you only have 200ish followers. You should have like 2,000! WHAT. Did you do it all yourself?
Wow. I'll stop freaking out now.
