The Perfect Spring/Summer Working from Home Outfits

When I saw Steven Alan's Spring 2011 collection I just melted.  To me, these are perfect outfits for my days which are 75% spent at home working, 10% at the rock climbing gym, and 15% with my boyfriend and/or friends.  Relaxed and comfortable but still so chic, I want all of these outfits!  I am the sort of girl who has always enjoyed getting dressed everyday.  I love fashion.  I love clothes.  And I love dressing up for me, not to impress anyone else.  That's why I still have fun with what I wear everyday even though I work from home.  I feel great when I take the time to show myself I am investing in me and respecting myself when I put on a great outfit in the morning.  But comfort also plays into my style these days as most of my day is spent at a desk making things or working on my computer.
These outfits are just perfect.  They are slouchy enough for me to feel comfortable trying to sit cross legged on my work chair, and they are stylish enough for me to feel like I am treating myself well & am showing myself that I should feel pretty everyday, even while I work.

How do you balance comfort and style in your wardrobe?

That collection is lovely and perfect!

I balance the two by making clothes from fashion eras I adore with modern techniques and fabrics. My linen Katharine Hepburn pants are more comfortable than sweats, I wear them all the time.

I'm really pleased to have found your blog through the Accents/Dialects vlog meme. I just made one, myself. When I watched yours, I kept laughing and thinking "Why don't we live in the same city? How come we've never met?" So now we have. Hello, I'm Steph.

I loooove the second outfit in the frost row and the first outfit in the last row. I LOVE those wide legged pants so so much. I just bought a new shirt that I think a black pair would go FANTASTIC with!

You have great style! :D

I agree! Those are perfect work at home outfits :) They all look so comfy. I also work from home, and getting dressed is something I need to work on. It's so easy to slip into lazy mode and wear pjs all day, but it makes me unproductive.

I love all of these outfits! So comfortable looking, but not sloppy. My favorite is the first one on the left.

You would look great in those white linen pants! Ah, if I only I could afford Steven Alan.

Oh perfect! I have a few really soft cotton dresses and tights for my days off. They feel like jammies but they're go-out-in-public safe.

ooo I love those outfits and that added hat! I think comfort has a lot to do with what you are confident in, which really helps me at least! I also feel most comfortable in really silky soft cottons! :)

Oh my gosh I completely agree. Working at home usually leaves me in yoga pants and a tshirt top. ;) I need to do better.

Hmmm.... how do I balance comfort and style? Good question. I tend to err on the side of comfort, but I do take care to try to make sure that the shapes of my clothes are flattering to my body type. That's pretty much it. Lol. I need to get more accessories and things - my look is pretty boring actually.
