I don't think I've ever made a Birthday Wishlist on my blog before, but I thought I would give it a try. Most of the blogger's wishlists that I have seen have had awesome fun girly things on them like new clothes, candles, perfumes, etc. And as much as I do like and want those things, the practical needs in my life are soooo much more important to me.
For my birthday, I just want to know that those around me believe in me. That means the most. Whether I receive presents or not, simply knowing that those around me in real life and the blogging world support me and believe that I can achieve my dreams is what I need most. I can pinch and save to get the supplies I need slowly over time as long as I know I have friends to encourage me as I work hard towards my future. Glamorous things sound fun, but I don't need them, and it is MUCH more important to me that I focus on just paying off my college loans for the next 10 years. My dream is to be out of debt. And my life is lovely now and I don't need much to be happy. Happiness is already here :) And the pursuit of my dreams are the icing on a joyful life.
But hey, if you know someone who is getting rid of their old jewelry making tools, or an old tripod, let me know! Hand me downs are awesome!
These are my practical birthday wishes :) 25 will be a good year.

I hear what you say about school loans. Undergrad AND Grad school for FIne Art.. phew! I don't even want to imagine it.. it's $25k a year at my Grad school where I am right now. I would love a fairy god mother.

i hope you have a wonderful 25th year! i love that most of your wishlist is jewelry making supplies. just perfect, i'd do the same! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! You've got your mind on straight, nothing worse than sitting on a pile of debt disguised as fancy things you think you need! They make you look good, but they don't help you live right.
ReplyDeletep.s. Your wish list makes me want to invest in jewelry making classes.
I hope you enjoy your 25th year on this marvelous planet! And flex shafts are amazing, I miss those. <3
ReplyDeletewhoa. my birthday is on the 21st too! i hope you get everything you asked for and more! i believe in your work and enjoy seeing your progression. with new tools and resources, i can only imagine the amazing things you could do with them!
ReplyDeleteOh I want #11 too!!!
ReplyDeleteI love number 11! My birthday card from my parents last year was a fake student loan bill that they had made on the computer that said PAID IN FULL! at the bottom. I burst into tears. Best. present. ever. I'll have my fingers crossed that it happens for you too!

ReplyDeleteI'm also totally with you on #11! I literally just have to start paying back mine and a fairy godmother to magically poof them and not have any more student loans to worry about would be awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a great 25th birthday, you work hard and you deserve it! Love your "practical b-day" wish list. Sounds like we are a lot alike. :-)

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday in advance! I hope it's a good one & that you get a few of the practical things on your list, especially tools to help you make more of your gorgeous jewelry. 25 was a good year for me & I have a feeling it will be a good one for you as well! ;)
ReplyDeleteOoohhh. I should check out those swimsuits (:Happy 25th birthday on the 21st! Hope it's a wonderful day (:

I wonder if this is an INFP thing? I was trying to explain to my sister that spending time with someone, to me, is a much greater birthday gift than anything you could buy at a store. She took that to mean that I didn't like buying her gifts. Much drama ensued. Anyway, you explain it much better than I did! It's more about that personal connection with someone than getting one more cutesy thing to clutter up your shelves. I definitely agree. Well said. :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, girl!
ReplyDeletei say forgo the drill press if a flex shaft is also on your list. I absolutely love a good bench-top drill press, but if you have a flex shaft, you can use more attachments with it. With the right drill bit, you can do the same thing with a flex shaft as you can on a drill press :)
butttttt, if the world works out perfectly (and why shouldn't it?!) you'll get everything on your list!!
What a good list! I'd like those things too :) Happy birthday!! Hope it was fabulous.
