What I Wore... plus a cute puppy :)

While I was home with my family, my middle sister's doggie and I had a little photoshoot :)  My outfit matched her so well!  This is the sort of outfit that, if you were my friend in real life, you'd see me wearing often.  It just feels clean, fresh, simple, good lookin' and comfortable.  And I'm super duper in love with my new bag from Handbag Heaven.  I have a similar bag in brown from Target which is super cute and a great every day purse, but it has fallen apart pretty quickly.  This black bag is so well made, I have a feeling it is going to be my new staple bag for a long long time.

I love this sleepy little doggie girl :)  My sister got her from a rescue shelter and we think she is some sort of Rottweiler / Lab mix.  She looks a little tough but she is such a sweetheart.  I so wish I could afford a dog but being a 25 year old trying to run her own business, every little drop of money I make goes to the bare necessities or back into my business.  I try to think carefully through every decision I make and every responsibility I take on.  And if I got a dog in the future, I would want to make sure I had enough savings saved up so that if it ever got hurt or got a tumor or just anything bad accidentally happened to it, I could be sure to take care of it.  Right now I can't afford a puppy companion, but I hope I'll be able to someday!
Do you have a pet?  How many of you have gotten your pets from a rescue shelter?  Taking care of needy animals is so dear to my heart!  I love animals and I love animal lovers! :)

ps, thanks to my sister Alexandra for taking these photos!

Really cute outfit that could totally fit in ANY situation; slightly formal, lunch with friends, early evening drinks, so much - got to love go to outfits where you know it will be okay no matter what creeps up in your day.

At the moment the pets list here is little; 2 dogs, a tortoise, 6 guinea pigs (2 are a week old), the cat of doom & a goldfish. Really lacking for my animal & pet experiences. But yes we often rescue dogs, my cat came from a lady who had not had her cat spayed, she was 2 and this was her 4th!!! litter of kittens, she couldn't find homes & was going to dump her at the rescue as nobody wanted her - I claimed her & doom cat is now 4. We've also rescued dogs in the past, or gone into a pet shop we know & taken the ones that have been in there ages & that nobody wants. xxx

cute cute dog! nice outfit too!

I have two rescue cats and it sure felt so good rescuing them.. however they were abit disturbed, struggling to trust me and be entirely comfortable in the house. i reckoned they had been abused from their previous owner..a sad thing. but we are getting there- one of them finally slept with me last night and let me stroke her tummy, which is definitely a good sign. makes me cry with happiness...:)

I have a lovely cat that I adopted a year ago. She was a stray, living in my backyard with a litter of six kittens. I took them all to the RSPCA and then adopted the mum. She's the cutest, and I feel so lucky to have found her.

Loving your glasses, too ^_^

I l-o-v-e your bag. And your rings. And you. And that sweet pup. I adore dogs. I wish I could rescue a whole bunch of them. I have two little dogs, but I want more in the future. Dogs are so special and I love them - especially the needy ones.

I also l-o-v-e your generous, sweet heart. <3

We adopted our pup just over 6 years ago now!
I found her advertised online as free to a good home and we've loved her ever since! <3

Nothing like an adorable doggie to complete a look ;) haha! She looks like such a sweetie. I love that bag too...and your hair...and I'm beyond partial to glasses...ok, "I love it all," would have been a bit more comprehensive. Ah, well. Everything here is so simple, polished, and perfect for the changing seasons.

Happy Monday! kristin

Aw, adorable! I have two pets - a cat and a dog, both rescues. My cat came from a shelter, my dog is a retired racing greyhound from a greyhound-specific rescue group. There are so many animals in need of homes that I can't imagine ever getting one any other way. Rescues are the best!

Love the outfit Moorea!
We adopted our dog (an Akita/Shepherd mix) from the Humane Society. I love him to death and couldn't imagine what would have happened to him if I hadn't decided to take him home that day. Having a dog is a huge responsibility, especially financially. Thinking back, I probably wasn't ready. There's money to keep up his shots and money to put him in a kennel when we're out of town. Plus, toys, food, etc. But there's no turning back now (not that I would consider it!)

i have 3 dogs (on top of 4 kids and a Mister)- two of my 3 are rescue dogs that had been abandoned and one of them suffered some serious abuse. I wouldn't trade them in for anything in the world... and I always encourage people to adopt... so many deserving animals who need good homes!

Cute outfit - clean and simple! And sweet puppy...
I have two kitties. Charlie is from a shelter and Lucy was a stray picked up by a friend (she already had 3 cats and couldn't keep Lu). I love them both so much! If it comes time for another pet, I wouldn't think of going anywhere but a shelter!

Oh my, I love your hair like that! beautiful outfit; casual & chic all at the same time. What a perfect end-of-summer/early fall look!

I have two pets, a cat whom I rescued in Alaska. She drove all the way down the Alcan with me! I also have a puppy that I rescued from a humane shelter in Oregon. He had been in 2 shelters for the first year of his life; he was rescued from the first because they were going to put him down. He's got his fair share of social problems, but he'd probably still be in shelters if we hadn't taken him home. I'd rescue 20 more if I could, but unfortunately my finace has said no more (for now).

I think it is wonderful when people adopt their pets. There are so many that need good homes.

I've had my little rescue dog, Scooter, for eight years now. He's just as cute and lovable as the day I got him. When we got him he was starved for love. We've spoiled him a bit, so now he's more interested in treats.

Oh my gosh, what a perfect outfit! From head to toe!

My fiance and I have a rescue pup we got from the humane society 2 years ago. She is hands-down the best part of our day. I'll never adopt from anywhere else!

I love your outfit! :)

I rescued both of my cats, and Hypatia, my oldest, was over 3 years old when we got her, so the rescue organization pays for all of her vet bills. They pay for all cats over 3, plus all cats that have standing health issues, as an incentive for people to adopt, even if they can't afford it. Most people just look for kittens and ignore the older, and frailer, cats who really need the most love!

For my other cat, Chloe, I'm looking into ASPCA insurance. I think it's like $12 a month for basic coverage, and they'll help with vet bills if I ever come up against something I can't pay for myself. I'm really careful with my money too (and I'm also a 25 year old (well.. 24 and 10 months haha) small business owner) but I honestly just couldn't live without pets. I'd give up my own food, or cut back somewhere else. The joy they bring into your life, and the amount of stress they relieve by just being there... it's so worth it!! :)

You & that dog are both adorable.

I'm a huge animal lover so all of my pets except one are rescues. 4 dogs, 3 cats and 2 rats currently hold my heart. Of them all 2 dogs have come from the animal shelter, one from some guy who accidentally had puppies and one stray dog, all three cats (brothers) were feral kittens that I took in and the rats were from a hoarder who had 2,000 pet rats living in his house (it was on the show Hoarders).

She is such a cute dog!
I have two cats and a rabbit (Victor, Opal, and Flora Bunnikins), none came from a rescue shelter, both the cats were born on my husband's parents farm and the bun was an impulsive "OMG BUNNIES!!!" from a roadside bunny-man. Before we got the second kitty, we were looking at rescues and found the perfect little guy, but we lived in another state and they wanted him placed withing the same city he was in at the moment, so it didn't work out.... :(

i love the last picture of you! i look just like that when taking pictures/getting too hot/frustration/giving in to things.... :)

Last week I rescued two kitties from certain death at the humane society. Steve is 8 weeks , grey and white stripes, Dirty Hazel is 14 weeks, and the most comical tortoise pattern. I now have 5 cats in all and that's my personal limit! :)

I have a doggy who I rescued (from her previous owner), and who is so much loved. I would say though, having a dog and that responsibility TOTALLY changes your life. It is amazing, but it is also crazy, and I definitely wasn't in the market for a dog. (in the situation that we got Keffie though, it could't have gone any differently.)
