I thought it might be a fun treat to take this week to do a detailed tour of my home! Each day I'll be posting about a different area of my home and today I'm starting with the living room. All photos are by the ever so talented Kristen Marie. I love seeing peeks into the homes of artists, designers, and bloggers that I admire so this might be fun for some of you who wonder what goes on behind the scenes of my blog :)
I'll start off by introducing you to my roommate Danielle. She has lived in our little house for 2 and a half years and the majority of our home has been decorated by her (I've only lived here for 6 months). She is one of the few women I know whose style I totally vibe with. She has a beautiful collection of mid century modern furniture, a love for decor that is a bit woodsy and masculine, and she is an avid collector of plants. Our house is stuffed full of green vegetation.
I adore every little element of our living room. Danielle has done an amazing job of collecting pieces from vintage shops, craigslist, Etsy, and even bits and pieces from her family to create a cozy Northwestern styled living room. It feels like Seattle inside of our house as much as it does outside. Minus the rain of course :)
I spend a lot of time hanging out and working on the couch in the living room during the day. Danielle is a nurse at works at night so I usually have the house to myself during the day while she is sleeping. It works out well since I work from home and am pretty quiet by nature so we both get our solid quite time, me working, her sleeping.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our living room! Be sure to stop back everyday this week for tours of the other spaces in our home. Tomorrow I'll give you a little tour of our kitchen. And If you'd like to get to know my roommate Danielle better, check out her blog where she documents projects she is working on. She actually is an Etsy seller as well but these days it is just for hobby since she is busy being a nurse by profession. If you are a long time Etsy fan, you may notice that she was a featured seller on Etsy waaaay back in 2006, just a year after Etsy was founded!
