Apartment Hunting is the Pits!

Update:  Well it's Saturday and after chasing after 6 different apartments in our favorite neighborhood with zero luck... we went into our second favorite neighborhood and have quite possibly scored a nice clean apartment just 2 blocks from Greenlake.  I have a feeling we will probably get it and it's such a strange mixture of nervousness and excitement for a new step to finally be coming true, it's scary, it's real and it's a new joyful adventure.  I wish we could have found something in Ballard as two of our besties live there and and we just love that area the best.  But at the same time, living in this apartment will give us the opportunity to save a bit of money this year and I mean, we can walk to a lake and have picnics whenever we want.  Hopefully we can make friends with some neighborhood dogs too.   The manager of the apartment seems like a really rad dude.  And the apartment has a rooftop deck with a grill so hopefully we can use that to our full advantage while the weather is nice this summer and fall.  It's a corner unit so hopefully that means we will get some nice light.  And the carpets are brand new as are multiple things in the bathroom so hopefully that is a sign that the management takes good care of the building.  Ooh I'm so nervous!  After multiple disappointments with apartment hunting all week, it's suddenly crazy feeling to know that we probably just scored a place!  Ah!

Good luck, gorgeous lady! I'm so jealous that you're apartment hunting... It's nerve-wracking, it's a little scary, can be aggravating... but it's also such a fun step in life, no matter how often you move and it's so exciting to think about your new place. Plus, WHERE you're searching... urgh. SO JEALOUS!!!

I hope y'all find something soon!!!

I'm not sure what/where you're looking, but talk to Jen! She manages a building now right by the 619 and lots of artists live there. xoxo

I hope you guys get it! Apartment hunting really is the pits, but when you finally get to sign the lin on a new space it really starts to feel like your year. Nothing like a fresh clean slate for creativity and comfort!

thanks so much! We ended up getting a cute little one in a different area of the city than we were hoping, but the area is still great! We are a block from a lake so that is awesome :) Ps, great job on your DIY redo of your table and dresser. We are going to have to be doing a lot of that in the coming month or two!

Thanks lady! The fab sale went pretty well and I'm hoping to do another big sale on Zulily.com later in the fall too! I think your good juju helped us land an apartment finally and we really dig it. Its just a block from a lake inside the city! Yay!

Thanks! Ps, I checked out some of your cottonwood beach posts and I'm so jealous of those two cute little cabins! The old school one is SO rad and the newer one has such a cool shape!

Thanks Melissa!
Yea, the area around 619 is really rad, Pioneer Square and the international district and downtown. I used to work for an artist near there! But my studio is all the way on the opposite side of the city, and I kind of like the more quiet and tree filled areas of the city. So thankfully we got an apartment just a block from Greenlake and not far at all from my studio space. Yay!!

thanks Lauren! yea, apartment hunting in Seattle is lame! But once we decided to start looking outside of Ballard, we immediately got a place in Greenlake just a block from the lake so, phew, the hunt is over! :)
