I'm in the September Issue... What?

Well, something exciting happened.  I was/am featured in Seattle Magazine's September issue!  I was interviewed a few months ago and had a little photoshoot at my studio and have been anticipating the September issue's arrival for a few months now.  When it came out a few days ago, I was probably more excited and surprised than I had anticipated being.  Maybe because it finally felt real.  I was asked to be featured as the "Designer to Watch" for jewelry along with 2 other designers being noted for clothing design and shoe design.  I had expected to maybe share a page with a few other people but woah, I got a whole page feature with my face on it!
I really feel humbled because I have been working away at my little business with serious focus for the past 2 years and in the past few months, I've been seeing some major rewards or at least major acknowledgements coming along.  Because I started this all on my own after college with only a few bucks invested in some basic jewelry making tools, I feel like I have to pinch myself everyday that I am really living this life.  I am a self made woman.  I am young and my hard work has paid off.  The major sacrifices I have made have been worth it, the struggles and trials have been met with perseverance and resulted in a present and a future that are fulfilling and worthwhile.
I am so humbled because with all of the hard work I did on my own, I know that it has not all been me that has gotten me to where I am now.  It was the support of my friends and love from my family that made me feel like I could keep going and could face any hardship.  And beyond ANYTHING else, the support of my online community has not only kept my dreams and goals alive but you guys have also turned my dreams into realities.  I cannot thank you enough for your love, support and encouragement.


Thank you to all of you Seattlites who bought the magazine and sent me a message letting me know you saw my feature.  Thank you to all of you twitter and instagram friends who have typed out words of love and excitement for me, that really makes my days a million times brighter.  I appreciate you all times a million and I'm so thankful you've stuck by me on my journey as a designer and maker of things.  I've got big plans for the fall, major changes and transitions, so your support along these new frontiers means a lot!  Lots and lots of love and thanks to you!!!
