Inspiration Board: Autumnal

Autumn Dreams

I've been dreaming about Autumn a lot lately.  We haven't had much of a summer here in Seattle.  It was cold and rainy up until mid July and even after that the temperatures didn't get that hot.  We had about a week of mid 90s weather and now it is sinking back down to the 70s.  As long as the sun stays out, I am happy with the temperature cooling down.  I'm definitely not ready for the Seattle Winter gloom which occupies about 75% of our year.  But I am looking forward to pumpkin carving, pie baking, sipping hot cocoa while wrapped up in a blanket, big hats and warm coats, chunky scarves, knee high socks and leather boots, apple orchards, berry picking, the scent of wood stoves burning in the air, watching the birds fly south for the winter, and nesting up in our little apartment.

I realized this week that I didn't really do many outfit posts this summer.  Funny because most of the year it is raining outside and I'm wishing it would stop raining so I could go shoot outside.  Once summer comes though, I just don't feel very comfortable in most outfits.  I don't like the heat and I've always preferred wearing layers rather than a flouncy top and shorts.  Hopefully the early onset of Fall means that I'll feel inspired to start doing outfit photos again.

I am an Autumn girl through and through, the colors, the textures, the scents, the tastes, the comfy cozy feelings, Autumn is my season.  Fall, let's do this.  What is your favorite season and why does it suit you best?

Autumn is my all time favorite season.
I look forward to it every year.

The cold sunny days, the falling leaves, PUMPKINS, baking with way too much cinnamon, scarfs, mittens, Martha Stewart's Halloween magazine, gloomy fog, apple cider, hot tea, ... Do I need to go on ;)

Have a great Fall!

I was just thinking, as I looked at your blog you love the autumn color pallet and it does suit you, from what I know of you. You have a calming aura about you which feels much like autumn.

I believe spring suits me most. It is the time when I am most delighted in my world around me. After a long winter, the green of fresh grassy fields, and budding flowers just make me so excited.

Although I do love Fall colors the most! Dirtied pastels like rusty orange, olive green, and mustard yellow.

So sick of seeing mood boards everywhere I wish people were more original.

Autumn, autumn, autumn. All the way - for all the same reasons. Something about Fall just makes you feel more alive. I was born and raised in the northeast (Jersey), but have lived in Florida for the past 6 years. Can you imagine going 6 years without Fall?! Ugh! But I am moving back up north at the end of September, so I am having Fall cravings like crazy (as I can see you are too)!

Oddly enough, my dream since I was 12 has been to move to Seattle! In addition to autumnal bliss, also long for gloomy dark weather lol. ;)

I love number 6 and number 7 is adorable! Autumn is my favorite season, so I'm holding off all of my Autumn-y posts so I can do them closer to the 22nd. So hard!!!

Heehee, I can totally tell you are a Fall girl like me. I think everyone who loves Neil Young has to be a Fall person, don't you think? He sounds like a warm reddish orange color to me, if that makes any sense. And that color is my favorite color and so fall! Mmm, cozy scarves, mittens, fog, apple cider, pumkins, that is all right up my alley :)

I've always loved the color palette that you seem drawn to too and it is very warm and rustic, cozy and autumnal. I love those rusty oranges, olive greens and mustard yellows too obviously :) And you know what, I can totally tell that you are a Spring spirit. You've always seemed really positive, encouraging, light, joyful, adventurous and just full of life. That sounds like spring to me <3 beautiful.

Ooh I bet you would love it here :) I drove through North East jersey 2 years ago, and long the Jersey turnpike and GOOD GOD it was probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Jersey Shore does not represent the beauty of the state well enough, haha. Glad you don't fit the silly Jersey Shore stereotype and feel and see the beauty in the weather and landscape! You're a lucky lady to have grown up in such a gorgeous space! Let me know if you are ever in Seattle, and be sure to visit someday in September. its our most beautiful month :)

Ooh it has my favorite outfits too! What is better than wearing an outfit that is both light but still cozy? nothing. :) I love scarves and boots like mad. I love feeling wrapped up in a blanket and I think scarves and boots are like wearable blankets, don't you think :)

You're awesome. I suck at planning blog posts, I just post whatever I feel like in the moment but I am generally more of a planner in all other areas of life. You can see how this leads to myself driving me crazy when I cant think of anything to post in the moment, haha.
And aren't that cozy room and that adorable little cozy girl so CUTE? Love.

What a surprise this is, I'm so glad my print made it onto your moodboard! Looking at the whole thing makes me super excited for fall to get here (even if it does mean winter is closer).
