52 Lists // Week 10 - Cleansing

Spring cleaning, I am craving it!  This week I met up with my friend Melanie from Inward Facing Girl for the first time outside of the web and I just fell in love with her.  She and I totally clicked on where we feel we do well and where we feel we need to cleanse our lives.  So we thought we would partner together this week for the 52 Lists project to focus on how we can cleanse our lives inspired by that itch to Spring Clean!  Melanie and I chatted about how it seems that the curse of "the blogger" is that we all want to do everything, and I mean everything!  We want to jump on latest trends, use all of the new up and coming social media tools, write, do photography, run a shop, design...  I mean, I can say I suffer wanting to do all of those things and more!   I take on a lot and have a very hard time cleansing my life of the things I don't really need to be spending so much time on.  I am not very good at delegating and I  am a bit of a control freak, wanting to do everything and wanting to do it all well!  I am proud of myself that I decided to quit Blog Designing & doing freelance Illustration and Graphic Design this Winter.  And now I feel the urge to really clean up the areas I am now trying to focus in.

Melanie and I both agreed that this week, we need to focus on the idea of cleansing!  And I'm not just talking about cleansing my body through a juice cleanse, I'm talking about cleansing each of those areas of life that feel a little off kilter or cluttered.  Because I juggle so much, I think I need to take some slow steps to cleansing each of those areas like my laptop, my apartment, my mind and body.  I feel so great when I take the time to cleanse something in my life, even if it is small like cleaning up my desktop on my laptop.  I feel so refreshed if I just think about how I can cleanse my life one way each week.  And this week for me, I want to tidy up my laptop which is bursting with folders like you have no idea.  I know you must have plenty of ways that you would like to freshen up your life right now whether it is just putting away the Winter clothes to bring out sandals for Spring, or dusting your home.  So let's do something this week to cleanse ourselves and our spaces!  If you need some guidance on how to focus your blog, cleanse your process, and learn how to get on a roll with blogging, you should check out Melanie's new E-Course "Blogging With Purpose."  I just downloaded it and I am so excited to sit down, center myself, and use her guided exercises to help me focus and cleanse my blogging process!  How are you inspired to cleanse your life right now?

What is your go to method of Spring Cleaning each year?  I often get pretty stir crazy during Spring in Seattle because it continues to rain all the way into June every year.  I think the Spring cleaning itch is probably what go me to finally paint and redecorate my workspace last week!  I feel SO refreshed in this space now, it's almost too zen!  Take a little time this week to write out your list of Ways to Cleanse for Spring and hanging up somewhere that maybe usually makes you stressed.  That way when you seem something that drives you a little nuts, like that one room in your house that is always messy or that one spot that you drop all of your mail till it turns into a giant pile, you will feel a little more eager to just get to cleansing!  Get ready to feel refreshed!

As always, feel free to download the PDF list above or write down your list in a journal.  If you post about it on Twitter, Instagram, your blog, or Pinterest, then stop back here and link up your list so we can all visit each others lists and gain inspiration & insight from one another.

Use the hashtag:  #52lists2013 if you post your list on twitter / instagram / pinterest

You make me want to cleanse some aspects of my life. I need to focus in on what's important and try to stop doing everything. That's definitely my problem.

Great idea and very fitting for spring :) Had a lot of creative calligraphy fun with this one.

Your thoughts on having to tone down a bit and focus on a few really important things is advice I really need to take to heart as well... I have the same problem... I'm interested in so many things and just want to do ALL OF THEM!
One aspect of my life I really need to work on...

Loving this project and it's a really great way to motivate myself to practice my calligraphy at least once a week :)

Still playing catch up with your older posts too.

I only recently discovered your blog and have to say it's one of the few that manages to keep me coming back :) Really enjoy your posts and especially this fun challenge! Keep up the awesome work!

I really appreciate the stick to not eating gluten. I am trying hard to do the same thing right now. I have decreased it incredibly, but it still is present in my diet and I need to encourage myself more to do a GF diet. I think only then will I see the difference! I love these lists! :)

I just read a book called 7 by Jen Hatmaker and she really tries to simplify her life! It was so inspiring. I have really started to look at the area's of my life and started to get rid of the things I don't need! Plus spring is just around the corner and I can feel the cleaning bug has hit me full force!!

Oh, I am sorry. I totally linked to the wrong thing. I guess I also need to add to my list that I should do one thing at a time. Sorry. Loving the challenges you have started to add to the list.
