52 Lists // Week 9 + A Challenge!

The sun has been shining off and on in Seattle lately and it's been inspiring me to get outside, or to at least go somewhere other than my apartment or workspace!  Naturally, I am kind of a homebody.  I love doing quiet things alone.  But I also love adventure and new experiences.  Something I learned at Alt Summit from Stefan Sagmeister's keynote speech is that one of a kind experiences are magnificent in boosting your level of happiness and sustaining that feeling of fulfillment and joy.  So I'm taking that thought and running with it this year.  I want my year ahead to be filled with new experiences, new adventures, new practices, & new decisions!  I need to start saying yes to experiences outside of my work more & new experiences that involve my work.

I want to remember to step outside of the everyday and GO somewhere.  GOING somewhere can be as powerful as traveling to Japan or it can simply mean trying that one coffeeshop down the street that you have never been to.  It can mean going and signing up for a class you have been thinking about taking or going to get a check up at the doctor.  Whenever we make a choice to GO do something that is out of the norm of our everyday life, we have new opportunity to feel fulfilled in our choices, new opportunity to feel refreshed and excited about a little variety in our lives.

This week, let's think about all the places we want to go!  Dream as big as you can and write down those huge travel goals.  Think about little trips you can take during a normal day, to a park you have never been to, to a bakery you have been meaning to check out, to a place you used to love visiting but haven't been to in quite sometime.  Write out those imaginary places you wish you could visit, for me that is Narnia :)  Seeing your page fill up with a variety of unrealistic places to go, realistic but difficult, and realistic & super easy gives you the opportunity to see the bigger picture of the act of GOING.  How will you explore and go today?  I'd love to see some of your dreams & practical plans!

This week, I've added a new twist to the list.  A Challenge!  At the bottom of the printable page you will find a spot to write how you will challenge yourself to GO this week.  Maybe some of you already have a trip planned for this week, good job!  Write it in!  Maybe some of you just need a little boost this week to go do something you've been thinking about doing, for me, it's going to yoga.  I've only been once ever with my friend Allie so I want to get myself into it!  Use the little section at the bottom as a reminder to take with you all week, Where will you go this week?  You don't need to write in a ton of goals for GOING this week in the bottom, just write in one.  Keep it simple and straightforward and GO!

As always, feel free to download the PDF list above or write down your list in a journal.  If you post about it on Twitter, Instagram, your blog, or Pinterest, then stop back here and link up your list so we can all visit each others lists and gain inspiration & insight from one another.

  10. Thank you for such an inspiring project :) I find it interesting because it reminds me of small parts of myself, dreams and aspirations that I'd forgotten about. I also find it has a great practical use as a way for me to practice my calligraphy!

    Great ideas!

  11. I've been wanting to start this for the past few weeks and figuring out if it was something I could fit in my schedule. Then I realized how fulfilling it is to spend a whole week pondering over one idea and stretching my mind and dreams and goals and comforts and inspiration. I caught up today and will spend the rest of this week expounding on what I wrote. I am so excited about this awesome project. I'm excited to add my list to your blog community.
