Giveaway // New Eve Jewelry

Today's giveaway comes from the very sweet Megan at New Eve Jewelry.  Megan donates 10% of all of the profits from her Etsy shop to her local rescue mission for abused women.  This cause speaks deeply to my heart.  Throughout my life, I have known an incredibly large amount of women who have been abused.  Did you know that 3 out of 4 women have been sexually abused?  I am saddened every single day to know that honestly, about 70% of the women I know have been abused and those are just the women who have told me.  It doesn't matter how rich or poor a woman is, within the community of women and girls that I know who have been abused, the abuse is not based on social status.  It is never a stranger.  It's a friend, a family friend, and most often a family member.  I know that many feel they cannot speak about it.  I know many women in some way feel responsible for the abuse they have experienced.  This is something I could talk about for hours because I just feel so incredibly passionate about this issue and I want the women I know and love to know their value, "purity" and beauty is not effected by the way in which others have mistreated them.  Ladies, I could go off just about how the word "purity" does not define your value!  If there is ONE thing I want to fight for in my life, I want to fight for the women who have been abused in their lifetime.  I want to fight for the daughters, sisters, mothers, friends, aunts, nieces, all of the women and girls who have been mistreated and taken advantage of.  I want to fight for all of the people who wish they could have prevented the harm that their loved ones experienced.  This in all honesty my life's mission beyond the brand I build and the things I create.

Ladies, I could write an entire blog solely on how much I believe in the power of women, how much I believe that despite our different types of hurts and traumas, that we can do something powerful and great with our stories.  I believe in communal healing.  I believe in each of us contributing in the best ways that we can to help others.  I believe in making the choice to give to others who are in need, through emotional support, financial support, gifts of wisdom and any other method of loving others.  You can bet I'll be speaking more about these things throughout the coming months as I work on ways to best help women who have been abused.  But in the meantime, let's support and honor miss Megan who is contributing to her local rescue mission through donating 10% of all of her profits from her Etsy shop.

New Eve Jewelry is all up-cycled, ethically sourced and eco friendly jewelry. Megan creates all of the jewelry herself and has a rustic, minimalist, and vintage vibe in all of her pieces.  Interested in winning this Quartz in Bullet Shell necklace?  Here is your chance!

  41. The jewelry pieces are gorgeous, and the cause is fantastic.
I am currently volunteering at a women's shelter in South Korea for abused women and am also performing a selection in the Vagina Monologues. It makes my day when I see women standing up for other women. This world is full of so much hurt, but the support that we girls can give to each other is the most incredible healing agent.
My favorite necklace is the floral necklace. Beautiful work.

This necklace (or really, anything with raw quartz) is probably my favorite, actually. Or the peter pan collar necklace.
